Bring up the subject of street fundraisers - or ‘charity muggers’, or ‘chuggers’ – and you’re guaranteed to set off a debate. Now one of the sector’s biggest names – Christian Aid – has waded into the mire, with this video.
I think this is rather funny – an effective satire on chuggers’ annoying behaviour. As such, it’s guaranteed to cause a stir, and I think that’s an achievement in itself. But I’m worried about the video’s underlying message. Christian Aid is trying to promote it’s Ctrl.Alt.Shift campaign. But I am genuinely at a loss to understand what this is, or how I can help it. The website is also really, really confusing. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks to Howard Lake for spotting this before me That piece made me laugh, very funny, although I think they may have over done the chugger part a bit. Still very funny. But that website..wow. I am dizzy after looking at it. I can see where they had some good ideas, taking action that takes seconds, minutes etc.. clever but its so confusing. I got lost in the whole thing and just logged off. I agree with Graham think there is a good idea in there just badly executed. Shame I agree Adam, Having looked at the site, it's not clear if it's a magazine, a social action social network, a campaigning tool or what? Someone's obviously had a bright idea but either not communicated it clearly to the web design team, or just have the wrong web design team! Cheers Graham Post new comment |
I have to agree- funny video, but what the heck is their message. Even looking at the site it's hard to tell exactly what they do.
