"Princess Diana didn't leave anything to charity"

MISLEADING: SOME PEOPLE, LIKE Peter Tatchell, get very cross that Diana didn’t leave anything to charity in her will (she gave it all to William and Harry). But we think this is being a bit unfair.

The Princess did charitable work during her lifetime, most famously raising the profile of the Red Cross (see profile) and the HALO Trust (see profile).

After her death, millions who admired her charitable side gave donations to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, and this charity, which is still active, distributed over £16 million in 2004 alone.

So, though her will might have been a bit mean, it’s certainly not an accurate reflection of what Diana did. Anyway, hands up anyone in their thirties who has written, let alone updated, their will in charities' favour...

Hi, people in her position do organise their will! If she was such a charitable person, that part of her life would have been considered. So what, if her presence enabled her to raise money... that was her role. I find it quite irritating as I know charitable people and they would like to have done more... but they are not financially sorted to jet around the world and promote an image to raise money.............
