"Princess Diana didn't leave anything to charity"

MISLEADING: SOME PEOPLE, LIKE Peter Tatchell [1], get very cross that Diana didn’t leave anything to charity in her will [2] (she gave it all to William and Harry). But we think this is being a bit unfair.

The Princess did charitable work during her lifetime, most famously raising the profile of the Red Cross (see profile [2]) and the HALO Trust (see profile [2]).

After her death, millions who admired her charitable side gave donations to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, and this charity, which is still active, distributed over £16 million in 2004 alone [3].

So, though her will might have been a bit mean, it’s certainly not an accurate reflection of what Diana did. Anyway, hands up anyone in their thirties who has written, let alone updated, their will in charities' favour...
