OLDER, SMALLER VERSION OF BRITISH LEGION
It's half the size of the Royal British Legion - though that's still big - and it does much of the same work, supporting over 50,000 existing and former members of the armed forces every year. SSAFA tends to put more emphasis than the Legion on helping its existing members, especially those based abroad. The annual report records the successes of 2006, but lacks details of targets.
