MOOSIC TO OUR EARS
As well as sending cows to poor people in Africa, this Christian charity provides advice on how to rear farm animals and grow organic fruit and veg. It also aims to spread the word on its environmentally friendly methods, and to educate the British public on the challenges faced by African farmers. In 2006/7, 7,000 households and farmers were helped. The annual report is well-done, but has its weak spots: we'd like to see more evidence of performance targets, for example.
