THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH GIANT

The largest breast-cancer research and lobbying charity - one of Prince Charles's many favourites. It's increasingly focussed on doing its own research, rather than funding others to do it, and on raising awareness and lobbying government. The annual report is comprehensive without being boring, boasting of successes in research, and gives the image of a charity committed to its work and that's paying keen attention to the needs of its beneficiaries. Which is why it gets such an excellent score.
