VETS FOR THE POOR GOING STRONG

As much a safety net for poorer people as for animals, this network of animal hospitals helps those who can't afford vets' fees. It already covers 77 per cent of qualifying households and plans to reach 80 per cent in the next two years. The annual report is one of the most confidence-inspiring we've read, backed up by a savvy annual review. A small gripe is relatively high overheads - but we're reliably informed that this situation is improving.
