The difference you can make

We don't like to boast, but we think we're pretty efficient operators. Here's what your donation could buy:

30p could cover the cost of producing a basic charity profile
£20 could cover the cost of producing a detailed charity profile
£50 could pay for a quality-control check on a detailed charity profile
£80 could pay for a blog entry
£100 could pay our Lead Researcher for a day
£200 could cover the expenses of two of our volunteers for ten days each

Quite simply, because we're the only organization which promises to save the world.

Support us, and we will help the world out of poverty. We will support research to find a cure for cancer. We will help disadvantaged people lead more fulfilling lives. We will even help look after cuddly animals (see right).

Because if you help us, we will use your donation to help every charity in Britain.

We achieve results

We specialise in helping normal people give to charity. One-third of our visitors say they they've changed their choice of charity after reading our charity profiles. And, seeing as more than 140,000 people have paid us a visit in the past year, we think that's a pretty good job. As a result, charities which care about their stakeholders now get more cash, and those that can't be bothered have lost out. Open, honest charities - and the people they help - are better off.
We put unrelenting pressure on charities to do better. Nobody else does this. We are the only people who name charities which aren't up to the job - and when do it, we have achieved great results. Back in 2006, we came down on BBC Children in Need for misleading the public and being woefully un-transparent. And as a result, they improved their act. Now they are a charity transformed.
We give free advice to charities who want to be more effective. We think all charities could improve. We know how - in certain areas at least. So we've dished out advice to charities who've asked for our help. Comic Relief, Children in Need, Sue Ryder Care, Norwood, the Manchester Jewish Federation, and Ethiopiaid - to name a few - have all benefited from our help.
We have made charities interesting - and we've got them in the news. Most people think charities are boring. They're not - they're simply misunderstood. We have convinced the media that this is the case, and have splashed charities across the press. We have featured in or inspired over 100 national-press articles in the past 18 months. Just before Christmas 2006, we managed to get a charity story on page three of the Daily Telegraph. And once, we even placed a story in the Daily Star. That's millions more of the public thinking about charities than if we weren't around.
