"Children North East has the general objectives: to understand the needs of children, young people and their carers in North East England; and to provide services that will promote their health, well-being and potential and influence social policy. The charity's work benefits children, young people and their carers in the parts of the North East of England served by our projects: the City of Newcastle upon Tyne; parts of Tynedale; parts of Gateshead; the whole of County Durham. The charity also provides support to organisations across the region who are developing their work to include fathers and male carers. Children North East provides a range of family support services, including volunteer home visiting services, supporting families in temporary accommodation in Newcastle and a rural Childrens Centre in Western Tynedale. It provides an open access health support and information service for young people in Newcastle and region wide support for work with fathers. The charity seeks the views of the users of our services continuously and feeds them into the development of existing and new services."
