- In 2005 ESTAMOS, WaterAid’s largest partner in Mozambique, was awarded the Mozambican Development Prize in recognition of the impact of their work in the remote Niassa Province. One groundbreaking aspect of ESTAMOS’ work has been the successful promotion of composting toilets
- In 2005, WaterAid and three of its partner organisations (DSK, VERC and PSTC) were presented with the prestigious National Sanitation Awards from the Government of Bangladesh. The awards were given in recognition of the organisations' leading role in promoting sanitation
