ESSEX HOSPICE BACK ON ITS FEET

Recovering from a troubled 2005/6, this outfit sorted out its finances and delivered ward-based, home and day care to 2,663 people with incurable conditions in 2006/7. Next year, it promises to extend its home-care services, replace one of its residential units, and to carry out a long-term strategic review. All of this is clearly documented in a decent annual report. But we'd like to see evidence of performance targets and a fuller financial commentary.
