HELPING OLD SOLDIERS WITH GRANTS

This venerable outfit gives grants to needy Army veterans, and to other charities dealing with veterans' issues. Most of its cash is dished out through regiments' own benevolent organizations, meaning the Fund acts in large part as a fundraiser and banker for these smaller charities - something which explains the large amount of cash it has in the bank. The annual report gives impressive financial commentary, but should say more about the contribution of the charity's many volunteers.
