SELF-HELP PIONEER TICKS THE RIGHT BOXES

This Newham-based organisation runs a vast array of projects for people of all ages, and its influence is felt across the country . In 2006/7, its advice team - which deals with debt, welfare and immigration issues - reached 3,000 people while 200 young people were helped into permanent employment. All this came on top of an extensive list children's acitivies and education projects. The annual report explains this in admirable detail, but it should really compare this year's performance to the previous year's targets.
