- It trains volunteers, the majoirty of whom are parents of deaf children or have links with deafness, as family supporters to provide peer support to families with deaf children
- It trains young deaf people, deaf adults and hearing people with excellent communication skills to work as youth volunteers to support deaf children and young deaf peole taking part in our programme of sports, arts and outdoor activites
- It trains young deaf people as peer mentors to act as deaf role models for young deaf people and provide support
Ten per year: trekking, cycling, innovative, running and community in the UK, Europe and beyond
- In the UK, a deaf child to attend an NDCS Performance Arts Day, and a Sports Activity Day to build their confidence, communications and social skills
- In Cameroon and Bangladesh, the monthly salary of a teacher training young deaf people in carpentry, beekeeping or tailoring in Cameroon; and will pay for all the learning materials needed for a parent learning sign language in Bangladesh
- In the UK, ten schools with information packs on how to be “deaf friendly”
- In Kenya, the weekly wage for a teacher running a kindergarten for deaf and disabled children in a Nairobi slum
