GREAT AMBITION, POOR REPORTING

This small charity has a big aim: to improve the lives of poor and disadvantaged people around the world. According to its annual report, in 2007 it did this by working in Afghanistan and Iran, where it ran an impressive array of projects which dealt with issues as diverse as fighting tuberculosis and distributing second-hand clothes. But though the report goes into admirable detail about the work the charity has done, it doesn't explain how it chose which projects to support, or even whether it's in good financial shape. Disappointing.
